(11/25/2015) Letter from Maryland Aviation Administration to Senator Barbara Mikulski
(3p) Senator Mikulski had forwarded a constituent letter, seeking answers from the airport authority. This is the MAA reply letter. EXCERPT: “Since the implementation of NextGen, the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) has learned through significant numbers of emails and calls, that citizens are upset about the NextGen changes to aircraft departure paths and altitudes over their communities. The residents assert that these changes were not addressed in sufficient detail in the FAA’s June 2013 Metroplex Airspace Environmental Assessment … Communities throughout the region, such as Elmhurst, have been impacted and have expressed deep concerns about the lack of accountability in the FAA’s process.”
