The $907M project, funded mostly with FAA AIP dollars, came in $45M under budget and adds 10 gates. This was the largest project in the airports history, bringing the total to 52 gates (plus a commuter terminal).

Residents and Peninsula community members who were looking for solutions to noise, traffic and development problems around Lindbergh Field convened at the Hervey/Point Loma Library on March 8 to strengthen their leadership roles and purpose. The group, SANnoise.org, is chaired by Lance Murphy, who says: “Keep [airport planning] out in the open. Don’t let it become some backroom activity, because that would screw up San Diego very badly.”
